        Calvary Loves You!

As the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, I want to welcome you to our website!  And it is true: Calvary does love you!  Our name is taken from the place called Calvary in the Bible.  Calvary is the place where Jesus Christ died on a cross.

“And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.”
(Lu 23:33)

Calvary is the place where God demonstrated to the world His great love.

“But God commendeth (showed or demonstrated) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
(Ro 5:8)

When people ask, “Does God really love us?” we can say, “Just look at Calvary, and there the sinless Son of God hangs between two criminals paying our punishment for our sins against a holy God.”  Have you ever responded to the love of God?  Just like the two thieves that hung on each side of Jesus we, too, must make a choice. The Bible tells us that one thief mocked Jesus and rejected him while the other one saw his sinfulness and accepted Jesus that day and found salvation.  How about you?  The Bible says:

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
(Ro 10:13)

Salvation is not about how good you are but about accepting the love of God by placing your faith in Jesus Christ. It’s all about grace!

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the
gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
(Eph 2:8-9) “

So when we say, “Calvary loves you,” we’re talking about the love of God on the hill called Calvary and a church called Calvary Baptist Church that loves you and wants you to know the love of God like we do.

If you don’t know Jesus, accept His love today and find forgiveness of sin, eternal life, and a peace that only God can provide.

If you don’t have a church home I want to invite you to Calvary this week.  You'll find our meeting times on the "service times"  located on the home page. We look forward to meeting you!

                                            -Pastor Michael Tallman
